Where R U is the collective heading for a series of three
works to date, first commissioned by Wakefield City Council
for the year of the Artist. The work involved the use of
overheard mobile phone conversations and text messages turned
into illuminated text and presented as roving projections
in public spaces. The constantly moving and changing text
presented the audience with tantalising fragments of conversation
proposing coherent dialogue and unanswerable questions.
The audience found themselves as unwitting participants
or eavesdroppers in someone else's conversations
